President Al Gagg called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and we proceeded to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Four Way Test and Cathi offered a blessing.
The Secretary's report followed, offered by Margaret:

Birthdays & Anniversaries - Birthdays: Dan on the 19th; Mark on the 31st.
Happy Dollars - Earle for Kennedy, along with Dave, Dale, Pete, Cathi, George, Jason, Bill, Margaret, John, Denise and Al; Dave for Willie Wonka (new cat); Denise: The Tarbells, daughter's 39th birthday, she is going to Ketchikan, Alaska, Outer Banks of North Carolina, Seattle, Washington or Montana, the eclipse because they emptied town hall and got everyone looking at it, guests, missing friends, Willie the best cat, spending the day with her mom every six weeks, long lunch with friends, East Longmeadow is #1 place to live in Western Massachsetts; Al for guests along with Margaret; Dale for President Al; Pete L because his son got married over the weekend; Jason was happy to be here, joined by Dale; Al for return of his gavel.
Sad/Unhappy Dollars -  For Maureen's last night, Dale, Maureen, Bill, Dave, Earle, Ray; Dave because Al lost his gavel (hmm...feeling guilty???); Pete: Cindi's horse died, joined by Bill, Margaret, John, Earle, Jason, Dale, George and Ray (although Bill offered some chinchillas).
New, special, other - Dale because she and Jason are running for office; George: East Windsor will be better for it.
Secretary's Wild Card (or whatever color shirt George is wearing applied to shirt, blouse, pants, skirt, dress)-Have you attended a farmer's market this summer? Cathi, Peter, Dale, Pete, Jason and Bill (got him again).
Leaving Early -  None - it ain't over until the bell rings, but it helps to have a gavel to ring the bell.
Publicity - None.
Late Meeting - Al, lots of catching up to do.
Future Speakers: Chris Corkum in the fall (Denise), George is working on Bill McGurk for the Fall, DG has been invited for 9/14 or 9/28.
New record set for most money collected - $102, thanks to baby Kennedy!!!

  1. Proposed Activities by Month:
    August:                   Back to School Supplies - Youth Service                       -Margaret & George shopped and delivery made.
                               Annual Sponsorships                - Club Service               -Earle and Denise - letters are going out.
    September              16th President’s Picnic                 - Club Service               -Bill, his house 2:00 to 6:00p - rain or shine. Inviting Pam and Tony, Dale, Jason, Ellie and Jo. Park in the back if you need assistance.
                                  23rd Community Day                  - Club Service               -Popcorn & Water - Margaret and Denise - food permit being sent
    October                  7th Wine Tasting 1 pm to 5 pm     -Club Service                -Dan/Dave/Pete L. - John submitted history of John Deere tractors; Dave spoke to the 250th Committee and they will have a booth; Dan spoke about sponsorship packages; will track annual sponsorships separately from Wine Tasting event. Joe S. is handling the food - all pre-cooked. Website will be up shortly. John will get the license, Joe will take the calls.

    2.    Benches for Veteran's Park - Denise checked with Commission to confirm they'd like a total of three benches and we can determine the dedications; likely Bob Watts, all Rotary veterans and all East Windsor veterans. Bill going to meet with contractor.
        3.     Speakers Assignments– August- Dan; September -  John; October – Bill; November: Pete L.; December: Cathi & Peter; January – Mark; February –Earle; March: George; April: Ray; May – Dave and Denise; and June – Al and Margaret.
        4. District Grants - Margaret received an invoice and picked up a check from Bill.
        5. President Elect - District is looking for the name of our President Elect.
        6. East Windsor Hunger Action Team Power Pack Specific Food Drive - Margaret will bring to the board.

Guess Who Won't Be Paying A Dollar For A Late Arrival?!?
***UPDATE: We learned at the meeting that Nikki was being released from the hospital and everyone was happy to hear that.***
Miss Kennedy Anna Tarbell has made her debut, a little bit earlier than expected. Dan and Nikki Tarbell welcomed baby Kennedy on Sunday, August 20th at 2:21 p.m. Dad reported that she weighed in at 3 lbs. 13 ounces and 15.5 inches in length. Grandmother Mary describes her as "feisty." Mother and daughter are happy, healthy and receiving wonderful care at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Congratulations are extended to Dan, Nikki, Earle and Mary and all of Kennedy's family.
